Field trips and social activities are a fun way to connect with neighbors, to learn about our community, and to see what others are doing to build sustainability and resilience. If there are some tours you'd like to see Transition Longfellow organize - and especially if you'd like to help with organizing or leading a trip, please let us know!
With a break in the rain we had a fun afternoon of celebrating sustainable living, organic food and more. The event began with a tour of neighborhood solar power installations, with opportunities to talk to the home owners about the success they have had with going solar. The solar power tour ended at Our Urban Farm, where we shared fresh, organic sourdough bread, organic iced tea and other treats.
We learned organic gardening tips from our local CSA and representatives from All Energy Solar were on hand to answer any questions about going solar.
