Updates from Longfellow Transition Group

As we head into the Fall season, there is a lot going on with Longfellow Transition Group. Here are a few, fun updates:

We have just added a couple of open houses to our calendar of events and we encourage you all to check them out. Talk of sustainability is growing rapidly in the neighborhood and that is something we should all appreciated. In fact, at the last Planning Meeting, Mike from Our Urban Farms talked about a poll they did on their web site. They surveyed people via and about 90% of respondents said they were concerned about Climate Change and that they believe the collapse it will cause has already begun. We are in the unique position to be able to help people begin making changes to the ways they live to create a better future for all of us. The first step is connecting with people and these open houses are a perfect place to do that.

At the last planning meeting it was suggested that we change the week of our meetings, so that we might be able to better cooperate with another group that meets on the first Wednesday of the month. As a result, we voted to move the planning meetings to the 3rd Wednesday of the month. That means there will be another planning meeting this month on Wednesday the 18th. We would love to see more of you there.

The website is also undergoing some updates and revisions. Be sure to check it out and follow the progress!
