Longfellow Community Council’s Ready-Made Native Pollinator Garden Program will fund and coordinate the installation of up to 22 pollinator plantings for residents located within the Greater Longfellow Community. The program is designed to increase pollinator habitat while also educating participants around sustainability and pollinator conservation. Garden installations will include a special focus on creating food sources and habitat for the endangered Rusty Patched Bumble Bee, in order to extend its effective range and connect established habitat corridors in and around Greater Longfellow. This program was made possible through funding from the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources’ (BWSR) Lawns to Legumes Demonstration Neighborhood Grant Program.
