News surrounding the unfolding Coronavirus pandemic has dominated our attention during the past couple of weeks. One critical need is for protective gear for medical staff, first responders and others who are staffing the front lines of this effort.
At the March Transition Longfellow planning meeting, guest Jon Freise shared his idea with the group to enlist Longfellow residents who have a sewing machine and sewing skills to start making protective masks. Since then, this idea has spread very quickly across the Twin Cities as well as many other parts of the country. Recently, Allina and Blue Cross/Blue Shield have raised the call for help and have offered a number of links to resources to guide those who want to help.
If you are skilled in sewing and have a machine at the ready at home, please consider joining this effort. Here is the link to further information on how to help: https://blog.bluecrossmn.com/covid19masks/
