Friends of the Mississippi River Offering 2 Fall River Bird Watching Hikes in the Neighborhood

For those of us who are seeking more ways to connect with neighbors and to delight in the experience of nature, Friends of the Mississippi River in partnership with the Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden is offering two one-hour fall bird watching hikes in the Longfellow neighborhood. The hikes are scheduled for Sunday, September 29 and October 6 from 8am to 9am beginning at the parking lot at 36th Street and the Mississippi River Road. These hikes are naturalist led and are a free event. Binoculars will be available but folks are encouraged to bring binoculars if they have a pair. Whether you are a knowledgeable birder or just curious to learn more about our local bird species, this event is an invitation to get out into nature and meet other folks.
